Originally from London, I moved to Australia many years ago. After spells in Canberra and Melbourne I now live on 20 acres of bush in Gippsland, Victoria. (Amber has developed a blog describing flora and fauna on the property.) For most of my working life I have been an academic specialising in global security issues. After leaving the university system I developed interests in woodworking and writing fiction (e.g., Rogue Republic, a political thriller set in Washington).
